Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis

I've have lived with RA for 10 years now. I have gone weeks being barely able to walk to be save my medical science. This was great as the treatment kept my body moving so I could live close to normal with little "flare ups". Flare up are more or less bad days when joints hurt. Its kinda of funny having to ask my son at the age of five to open the child proof pill bottle for me. Unfortunate I wanted to buy a home and try to be self sufficient. As soon as we made enough money in the eyes of the state they took the medical away. We were doing our best to stand on our own to feet. We have accomplished all of this but have no insurance. It would be nice to get insurance, but this is currently unaffordable. Sadly the truth of the matter is with proper treatment I could be a productive member of society for many years to come. Without proper treatment I'll end up on disability. One doctor told me I'll be lucky to still be able to work by the time I'm 40. That's only ten years away and I have two children to take care of as well.

Disability does not sound peeling to me, as I'm sure it doesn't to many people. I would like to be able to contribute my part to society. This is part of why this blog has been created. I search constantly to find more about RA. I hope to help other people who are experiencing life with RA or know someone who lives with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I pray that one day we will find a cure or at least a way to get treatment to everyone so they can also live productive lives.
